PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This 3-day, 30 hour intensive hands-on training workshop will be presented by nationally recognized practitioner and instructor Ashley Swain. Ms. Swain has been providing cosmetic and medical micropigmentation since 1995. She has educated and trained some of the top professionals in the US today. Ashley has conducted seminars for many prominent organizations including the Dermatological Society, Cancer Society, Alopeican Foundation, and the Parkinson’s Foundation. She has been interviewed by local and international media such as the Gold Coast Magazine of South Florida, Vero Beach Magazine, Palm Beach Post, Boca News Channel 7, The Marsha Little John Show, and MTV’s“ A Boca Bride Makeover”. She is a member of the American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM) and the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP), the largest professional society representing permanent makeup professionals.

This three day course will present aspects of micropigmentation from its history, benefits, pre-procedure evaluation, and treatment considerations through hands-on training with live models. Emphasis will be placed on patient assessment and clinical evaluation (including psychological factors) for treatment, informed consent, pain management considerations including recommended use of anesthetics, pertinent anatomy and physiology of the skin, facial morphology (scarring, skin disorders, and diseases), the healing process and post procedure instructions. The course will focus on implantation techniques of the eyes, eyebrows, lips (liner and full lip), and beauty marks. Instruction in color theory and blending using the Fitzpatrick classification model, correction and camouflage, cleaning, sterilization and maintenance of equipment will be presented. We will discuss and provide information on different types of equipment, legal and insurance considerations, purchasing sources, growth and business opportunities, and effective marketing measures.

Objectives – Participants will be able to:

Identify anatomical structures of integument system
Perform patient assessment, clinical evaluation, informed consent, and treatment considerations
Identify facial morphology, patient expectation and concerns
Demonstrate understanding of pain management issues and describe available anesthetic agents
Demonstrate and describe color theory and blending, camouflage, and correction
Demonstrate technique for implantation of eyes, eyebrows, lips, beauty marks
Demonstrate understanding of cleaning, sterilization and maintenance of equipment
Demonstrate Universal Precautions and Safety issues
Discuss legal and insurance considerations

PHYSICIAN CONTINUING EDUCATION

This course is designed with optimal criteria for eligibility of CME Category II credits which are self submitted. Physicians should only submit and claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

VIEW ANOTHER COURSE

Attendees will receive a course manual, pigmentation machine, a CD with consent form, pre and post procedure instructions for patient education, marketing tools and eligibility into the top professional micropigmentation associations and eligibility for AAA rated malpractice insurance. Certification of Training will be issued upon completion of the course. Continuing Education Credits for Nurses Pending.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please note: All cancellations must be received (not postmarked) in writing via mail or fax transmission. Cancellation Policy must be strictly enforced since workshops require a great deal of planning and preparation.

• A refund will be given, less a $150.00 processing fee, if cancelled at least 14 days prior to the start of the workshop. Any cancellations after this time will not qualify for a refund, but may be used toward a future workshop with the approval of the administrative department of ESI.

• Since a minimum number of registrants are necessary for each course and we do not meet this minimum, or for any other reason beyond our control the course is cancelled or postponed, registration fee will be refunded in full. Please note, ESI is not responsible for deposits to hotels, non-refundable airline tickets or fees associated with necessary airline changes.
